Bio

I am the co-founder of OtterTune. Before co-founding OtterTune, I did a summer internship at Databricks working on Graphframes, and then worked on machine learning and the streaming platform at another startup Striim. I received the Master of Computational Data Science (MCDS) degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018, and received the B.S degree in Computer Science from Peking University with honors in 2017.

My research interests include the intersection of machine learning and databases, big data management, as well as parallel graph processing and mining. During the summer of 2016, I worked with Prof. Andy Pavlo and Dr. Dana Van Aken on an Automatic DBMS Tuning System Ottertune at Carnegie Mellon University, and continued to work on that during my master study at CMU. Before that, I worked with Prof.Wenfei Fan on a new Parallel Graph Processing System GRAPE at University of Edinburgh. Before that, I exchanged to HKUST and worked with Prof.Lei Chen on a new Triangle-based Parallel Subgraph Enumeration alogrithm. At Peking University, I was supervised by Prof.Cui Bin working on different parallel graph processing algorithms and systems.
